The largest flea market is on the other side of the freeway just outside Paris. You take the last metro stop on Line 4 to Porte de Clignancourt and then walk two blocks under the Blvd Peripherique freeway that circles the city and viola, you are there! On the two block walk from the metro to the official start of the market, they sell everything but Chiclets, and after half a block I wish I would have had some to offer in counter to all of the street hustlers trying to sell knock off Rolex’s or Chanel No. 5! The market is open Saturday, Sunday and Mondays by appointment, we chose Sunday!
We didn’t come here with an agenda, just looking as it is good cheap entertainment, well if you don’t buy anything! Last time here in 2003 we bought 4 escargot forks, we use them all the time with shellfish, we just love them and every time we use them we think of the vendor that sold them to us, he was a very nice gentleman! This trip didn’t produce anything we could actually fit into our luggage to take home with us, but we enjoyed it all anyway!
