2014, April, bookstore, cafe, dark and cloudy day, Eiffel Tower, fountains, free clean bathrooms, free museum, gardens, Palais de Chaillot, Paris, thousands of tourist, Trocadero, Trocadero Gardens, Trocadero Metro
This is a very popular spot to look across the Seine River to the East and see the Eiffel Tower, or as the French call it, Tour Eiffel! Trocadero is the area of the city and the name of the Metro stop. One of the reasons is that it so popular is that it is on a Metro Line that brings you right up into the square. The Metro stop for the Eiffel Tower is some what of a walk once you get above ground still! Here the fountains were putting on quite a show this day, at least we thought is was a kick in the pants! Besides the fountains and the thousands of tourists, including us two, the Trocadero Gardens flank each side of the fountains which go right down the middle of the park! Also, the Palais de Chaillot has a free museum, free clean bathrooms, bookstore and cafe. Hard to find clean and free bathrooms once you leave your hotel room or apartment! As you will see many of the photos on today’s blog are of the Eiffel Tower, the next blog we’ll be on the Eiffel Tower side of the river! As you will see it was a dark and cloudy day with no rain, but not much daylight either.
